Theatre

I build, therefore I am
I just build the city dam
I just light, the way you see
None of My time is ever free
Makeup is the just game that I play
I put it on myself and others everyday
You just hear the work I put in
A record or c.d. I spin
A costume I will just learn to fit
Just relax, go back and sit
I just write programs so we can receive credit
I must type, put in order, and edit
To advertise, what is the key?
My making poster and writing letters just for publicity
Props, I just learn to make and set
I do what I am told on what to get
I just portray to the audience a black and white story
If I portray as if were real, then I get the glory
I just call curtain and make sure stuff is in place
After the crew heads constantly chase
I am just a crew head, with knowledge of the crew
I plan things and check them knowing what to do
With directing, I just set all of the blocking
Worrying about time as the deadline is clocking
I am just a booster, I feed the rest
I give confidence to a heart inside that chest
I am just the producer, all rests upon me
I give away jobs and pay them a fee
I just sell tickets on the box office table
I give the play their money and a good label
I am just a friend of one who works day and night
Because he is there, he keeps out of sight
I am just a member of the audience here
Catharsis, Intermission, Laughing at a joke I hear
"Act well your part, there all the honor does lie"
"Wait a second!" I seem to cry
Most don’t understand the meaning at all
They hide behind this mental wall
When I say, "Act well your part"
This hits most people like a dart
You see, I do not just talk about actors
I am talking about all of the factors
Being the person I am, the part I am playing
Whether it be acting, building, writing, or prop laying
If I play my part, others will too
Wearing our shirts as a sea of blue
We owe all of our thanks to each other
Me, you, him, her, even just a brother
Without all of these people, our play can’t go on
Without all of these people, our dream is gone
My sympathy to those who do not wish to be part, I send
We will remain together, PlayMakers till the end
