The Rules

 

The Rules of Poetry:

1)      Some lines must rhyme

2)      A clear theme must be conveyed

3)      Use of 10 or more metaphors, or one giant allegory

4)      The title must state the theme in a concise, yet elusive way

5)      No cross outs

6)      Only well established poets write good poetry

7)      Nature must be harnessed in some fashion

8)      All poems written by a poet must follow the same general format

9)      Subjectivity is necessary

10)  Poets must always speak and write poetically

11)  Parosity and meter may not vary during the poem

12)  Imagery must be throughout the poem, especially within the second line

13)  Only proper grammar; you can’t use the vernacular.  and punctuation must be clear

14)  The beginning of sentences lines MUST be capitalized

15)  A strong and rounded ending must be used
